A: Nope. Only if you want to (most of my clients don't).

Q: So what's with this Aikido stuff?
A: Aikido is a revolutionary non-violent Japanese martial art developed by a gentleman named Morihei Ueshiba (referred to as "O'Sensei" or Great Teacher by Aikido students).

The term Aikido translates as "The Way of Harmony" or "The Art of Peace". While it is wonderful to talk about peace, love and harmony, these words mean nothing unless they are accompanied by right action.

The genius of Master Ueshiba is that he actually discovered a way to live our lives with more peace, love and harmony.  Learn more about Aikido here.

Q: Peace, love and harmony?!? Aren't martial arts about hurting people?
A: Many martial arts are about hurting people. The martial art of Aikido is different because Aikido studies the paradox that is human nature by studying how we can keep both ourselves and others (including those who attack us) safe. In this sense, Aikido is amazingly revolutionary.
