(Cleveland, Ohio). With the increased interest in the mind/body connection, one professional group is committed to being on the forefront. The Cleveland Chapter of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) is hosting a martial arts based mind/body workshop for professional coaches on Saturday, September 25th, 2004. Tim Warneka & Mary Warneka, two Cleveland-born siblings will teach the workshop, The Tao of Coaching. Both presenters are coaches and martial artists who practice Aikido, “The Art of Peace”, he in Cleveland, she in Washington D.C.
Tim Warneka, the president of Cleveland based The Black Belt Consulting Group, is passionate about mind/body approaches to coaching. “In the summer Olympics, we witnessed the power of what athletes can do with superior coaching. The same holds true for every person. A mind/body approach to coaching is the key to success.” Mr. Warneka notes that his company is a full-service consulting organization that incorporates principles from the Japanese art of Aikido, in which Warneka holds a black belt, as well as Warneka’s skills as coach, consultant and mental health professional. Mary Warneka is the president of Harmonics Solutions, a conflict management consulting company in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. “It’s always wonderful to come back to Cleveland,” Ms. Warneka stated. “Aikido offers an exciting mind/body approach to human performance and we will be presenting an exclusive approach developed by my brother.” Ms. Warneka launched her company after serving as the director of a D.C. area non-profit conflict resolution organization, as well as facilitating organizational change within the D.C. public schools.
The workshop will be held at the University of Phoenix on Rockside Road in Independence, Ohio from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Media is welcome.
