Coaching – Finding your Power, Passion and Purpose
What is coaching, exactly? You’ve read about it. You may have heard your friends and colleagues talk about it. But what is it?
Coaching is a new profession designed to help people reach their full potential. Coaching is based on the wisdom of world-class athletes, musicians and martial artists – all of whom recognize that increased performance is gained only with the assistance of someone who can help them set goals, learn skills and practice more effectively.
Another way to think of coaching as an investment in yourself. Coaching is a method of person-to-person consulting undertaken in order to maximize your life performance.
According to the International Coach Federation (ICF), coaches:
· Help people set better goals and then reach those goals.
· Assist people to do more than they would have done on their own.
· Support people in focusing themselves to more quickly produce results.
· Provide people with the tools, support and structure to accomplish more.
At one time or other, all of us hire specialists. We call accountants to do our taxes. We work with architects to design the buildings in which we live and work. We take our car to the mechanic when it is broken. In the same way, coaches are specialists – specialists in helping you into becoming your best. When you work with a coach, you are in charge – deciding what you want to work on in your life and working at a pace you want to work at.
Find your Power, Passion & Purpose.
Life today is hectic, with a myriad of choices and decisions to be made. Many people report feeling slightly out of control of their lives. Others may have lost the passion in a job or relationship. Still others may be struggling to develop the skills needed for the job they have now.
Whatever the reason, coaching can help.
A coach can help you develop into the best you can be by providing you with tools, strategies, techniques and insights needed to more efficiently manage your life. A coach can provide focus, clarity and act as a sounding board.
